Head Coach's Message
Hello Baron Faithful,
I would like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Chris Anderson and I am the new Head Football Coach here at Fountain Valley. For the past nine years I worked in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, teaching Physical Education and Health, as well as coaching football at Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor High School. I am honored to take over the program here at Fountain Valley and immerse myself within the community. Fountain Valley is truly a special place to be!
Football is an amazing game that teaches a person the values of hard work, discipline, team work, loyalty and self-sacrifice. I take the role of a coach very seriously, never losing track that the young people I work with are students first and athletes second. I work to ensure that each player understand that myself and the football staff care about them personally, their academic success and that we have high expectations for them as people.
Our Players have been working hard this off-season both in the weight room and on the field. They are incredibly excited about the upcoming season and representing the community of Fountain Valley. The theme of the Fountain Valley Football Program is “Attitude and Effort.” I firmly believe that a person’s attitude and effort in life are the two areas that they have complete control over. The expectation for all of our players is to respond positively to adversity (attitude) and give maximum effort in everything they undertake. A person’s enthusiasm is contagious, and our staff and players will actively show our enthusiasm, hoping to have it rub off on those around us.
As we move closer to kickoff this fall, your support/love of the program cannot be understated. The community at-large is the backbone of all truly successful programs, and Fountain Valley is no different. I want to thank all of you who have supported the program over the years. I look forward to getting to know many of you over the coming months, please feel free to introduce yourself should you see me in public. Extremely proud to be a Baron!
